Equinox Flower with English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish subtitles
is a 1958 color Japanese film directed by Yasujirō Ozu. The film is based on a novel by Ton Satomi. The film won the 1958 Blue Ribbon Award for Fujiko Yamamoto’s performance as Best Actress.
Later in his career, Ozu started becoming increasingly sympathetic with the younger generation, a shift that was cemented in Equinox Flower, his gorgeously detailed first color film, about an old-fashioned father and his newfangled daughter.
