I Was Born, But… with English and Russian subtitles
is a 1932 black-and-white Japanese silent comedy film directed by Yasujirō Ozu.[1] It became the first of six Ozu films to win the Kinema Junpo Award for Best Film of the Year. Ozu later loosely remade the film as Good Morning (1959).
Two young brothers become the leaders of a gang of kids in their neighborhood. Ozu’s charming film is a social satire that draws from the antics of childhood as well as the tragedy of maturity.
